In 1962, professional wrestling was just getting to the limelight. At that point, many of what we had as wrestling promotions were Mexican wrestling promotions. The most notable standalone wrestling promotion was the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF).
WWWF featured, at that point—which was the starting year—a number of male wrestlers, with only one female wrestler at that time.
